good selection but for me the staff makes the store
The only food-store in town since the closure of it's competitor -- IGA. Watch the expiry dates on meat products it's known to slip over the edge before being reduced. Some of the check-out staff are very-nice. The BBQ'd chickens are excellent, perhap's the best in the Fort Erie area. Baked goods need more dough and can be 'airy' and the deli needs weekly sales items listed on the counter.
Exactly as the first reviewer said. The baked goods ARE quite airy, so the quality does suffer. The prices, I found, were very high in comparison to other grocery stores. It's actually worth the drive to Fort Erie. The No Frills store in FE is cheaper, has better quality of goods & a much larger selection. Joes Valu-Mart is good for quick stops, and only if you are picking up one or two necessary items.
I can't understand why it would be ranked #1 food store in Ridgeway. It is the ONLY food store in Ridgeway and is overpriced, poor quality foods and have noticed many food items that are already expired. Customers should not have to worry about expiry dates when shopping for groceries.
Good I shop here often and find the staff friendly. Some things are over priced but the bargains are very good
Nicest staff of any shop in Ridgeway but the changes being made will force me out of town to shop. I need gluten-free PC products that the store wont carry. The new plan-o-grams being used to rearrange shelf layouts are confusing and illogical, making it difficult to find things. Goodbye Joes. I have to move on.
